...only Jesus Christ...

ree

As human beings we are called to know and to love on the deepest levels of our existence.  To know the life-giving truth of Jesus Christ and to love Christ and His goodness is the purpose of life.  We are to live in such ways so as to be drawn to all who is Christ, all that is good, true, and beautiful.  We must take our steps towards Christ and away from this world and all it’s evils.  Nothing should draw us more in life than Jesus Christ.  Each hour and day in our life must fill us with the desire to recognize the face of Christ.   There is no happiness greater than the happiness of knowing and loving Jesus Christ.

All of this makes us aware of the hideous, life sucking attributes of evil.  To sin and to become comfortable in a life defined in sin is to experience death.

Nothing pulls us down and away from the loving face of Jesus Christ than our sinfulness.  We are called to examine and be honest about the weaknesses that are uniquely our own, and to step away from them, indeed to run from them, so as to embrace and love the face of God.   Thus the need for daily prayerful solitude.  Nothing will give us perseverance in daily living more than daily disciplines that turn our hearts and souls to the face of our loving Jesus Christ.  Nothing will bring greater joy than our utter and complete obedience and humility in the face of Jesus Christ.

For there is is no other and no greater image on God our Father in haven than Jesus Christ.  Desire to love and to know Him!   Pray that you will know and love Him!  Pray for the grace of Jesus Christ.  Pray daily for the indwelling of His Holy Spirit.   Run!  Run to the Lord.  Pray for His sufficient grace to make a more lasting and faithful commitment to Him each day of your life.  This is why every life is rooted in these truths of Jesus Christ.

Pray: Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, have mercy on me a sinner.

From the Bible:

“Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me” Matthew 16:24.

“For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps” 1 Peter 2:21.

“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” John 8:12.

“Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ. Now I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I delivered them to you”

1 Corinthians 11:1-2.
