“Jesus said: ’33 I have said this to you so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution, but take courage: I have conquered the world’” John 16:33. These words of Jesus make this point very simply and clearly: “In Me you may have peace” John 16:33. That there is no other peace anywhere in this world except in Jesus Christ, begs the question for us all: DO YOU BELIEVE JESUS? I do! And I know everything Jesus says, and everything He did, is true.
So today I invite you to sit down and pray about what Jesus is saying above. This is a reason why We celebrate Christmas, because in Jesus, and Jesus alone, He has already conquered the world. The world has no dominion over us, no power over us, no promise given to us that exceeds the promise Jesus makes above: “In Me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution, but take courage: I have conquered the world!”
Today ask Jesus to fill you with HIS peace. we move to Christmas consider the peace of Jesus. We will all face many kinds of difficulties from others and from our own decisions. But we have to be courageous in the face of the difficulties we face in our personal life, because Jesus has overcome all of these, personal suffering and global or societal suffering. But Jesus is the source of our peace, not our civil leaders, and not others.
Whatever time you have remaining on earth, lean on Jesus for your peace.
Pray during this second Sunday of Advent that He will bring the world peace in 2026.
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.
