...mercy and grace...

ree

The radical difference between God’s time and ours is the reason we find ourselves upset and scared at the course our life takes and the reasons why we can nevertheless find hope in the midst of it.

23 He has broken my strength in mid-course;

He has shortened my days.

24 ‘O my God,’ I say, ‘do not take me away

at the mid-point of my life, you whose years endure throughout all generations.’

25 Long ago You laid the foundation of the earth,

and the heavens are the work of Your hands.

26 They will perish, but You endure;

they will all wear out like a garment. You change them like clothing,

and they pass away;

27 but You are the same, and Your years have no end.

28 The children of Your servants shall live secure;

their offspring shall be established in Your presence.

(Psalm 102: 23-28)

God is breaking our strength and shortening our days, but we know that this is the same God who long ago laid the foundation of the earth, the God who will endure even though the earth might perish. He will be the same forever, without end.

Today pray that you will not be broken, even though your days are shortened. Pray that God will bring you back to Him. Remember that God will endure forever, without end, so today pray that you too will endure forever with Him! This means we need to pray for mercy and grace to return to Him and remain faithful.

Oh Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.

From the Bible:

“And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses” Colossians 2:13.

“What good is it if you say you have faith but do not have works? Can that faith save you” James 2:14?

“Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test” 2 Corinthians 14:5!

“When the humble see it they will be glad; you who seek God, let your hearts revive”

Psalm 69:32.
